Pride EV was Korea’s first mass-produced electric vehicle to be certified for commercial sale. Showcased at the 1993 Daejeon Expo through live driving demonstrations, it reflected Kia’s early commitment to eco-friendly innovation.

Pride EV featured a hybrid charging system that converted sunlight into energy using solar panels on the roof and hood. This auxiliary system added up to 16 km of additional range, extending the possibilities of early EV mobility.
