Born in 1952 during the Korean War, 3000-Liho—known as Samchully—was Korea’s first domestically produced bicycle. During an era of poor road conditions, it quickly became a practical means of transportation—supporting the everyday livelihoods of the Korean people. The name “Samchully” embodied a longing for freedom of movement across the divided Korean Peninsula.

In 1965, 2,000 units of Samchully were exported to the U.S., marking Korea’s first-ever bicycle export. This achievement was a significant milestone in Korea's industrial development and the stepping stone to Kia's emergence onto the global stage.
